Spring Break Sihanoukville!

Mmm ... crickets!

Apparently we had just missed the snake ... and thank god spiders are out of season!

Handmade anklets and some entertaining friends!

Doesn't this look pleasant?! Well, it started off fun and quickly disintegrated when we found out that these two are actually hardcore business rivals! Things turned ugly as they fought over our attention and I'm telling you, it's surprising how vicious such small people can get!!!

I'm sure it has a marshmellow centre!

Yes, I chased this prancing puppy down the beach, and yes, it truly is a fluffy black marshmellow!

Dancing in the street

Public dancing and aerobics in the park is huge over here! Although we don't look it, trust us, we were killing it with our moves...?

We got Dengue Fever!

heard Khmer rap? The King's birthday celebration, last night, brought the US band 'Dengue Fever' to town. They are huge over here!!

proud as punch!

It was mayhem in the classroom today as we explained to these children how to paint for the first time. Their creativity soon ran wild as they explored this new found talent and were proud as punch to see their master piece pinned up on the wall!!

when I grow up i want to be...

the prison

Where over 10,000 people were captured and tortured by the Khmer Rouge between the years of 1975 - 1978. Many of the children we teach today have never met elder family members who were lost here.

The first cambodian yoga instructor

Our teacher at our local yoga centre, Vannac is the only one of his six brothers and sister's to have learned english and now a fully trained yoga instructor. Nata Raj yoga centre is currently training 5 local cambodians.

peace out

Or is that up yours?

Final drop, school pack Krang Angkrong!

Relying on the children's imaginations

Is that a banana? or a boomerang?...an elephant or a lion?

How do you say... little?

we joined kabbalah!

Or simply received a blessing at Angkor what.

SCHOOL KITS: 2ND DROP PHOUM BOUN

It was our second drop of school supplies today to Phoum Boun. This school is in a slum area of the city, rather than a rural setting like our other community schools. The kids are great and their English is very advanced! We got to talking about what they wanted to be when they grow up and some of the answers were just fantastic! We are very excited because their education now will help them to achieve these dreams. Could there be anything better in the world?!

Safety first? Or was it safety in numbers?!

SCHOOLS: Phoum Boun & Krang Angkrong

We headed out to two new schools today and got a really warm welcome in both which was lovely!

And once again, even the little ones who aren't old enough for school, wanted to be involved.

The Satorialist in Phnom Penh
